About this song
Goethe's poem "Heidenröslein" set by Werner, a song taught in schools in Germany, Korea and Japan alike. The whole melody is here, moved a semitone lower to G major for saxophone.
Practice tips
It is in 6/8: count each bar in two groups, "one-two-three, two-two-three".
The dotted eighth and sixteenth in bar 1 (D–C) are "long-short", light and bouncy.
The refrain ("Röslein, Röslein") starts at bar 9. Tongue the repeated notes clearly.
