About this song
The German composer Friedrich Silcher's song to Heine's poem "Die Lorelei": the legend of a maiden singing on a rock above the Rhine who lures boatmen to their doom. It is a school favourite in Korea and Japan too.
Practice tips
In 6/8, count each bar in two groups: "one-two-three, two-two-three". The practice screen counts two beats too.
It is short: play it to the end at 50% first, then raise the speed little by little.
The busiest spot is bar 2 (6 notes). Loop just that bar and practice it slowly.
Bars 2, 6 and 14 are the same notes. Learn one and you can play the others with the same fingerings.
Where the octave key goes on and off a lot: bars 2, 6 and 14. Keep your left thumb close to the octave key.
The biggest jump is in bar 15 (C → ↑A). Alternate the two fingerings a few times so your fingers learn them first.
