About this song
The aria sung by the captive Almirena in Handel's opera "Rinaldo", made widely known by the film "Farinelli". This page has the whole vocal melody, joined as Handel wrote it: the middle section is followed by the opening again (da capo). It uses an edition in D major, comfortable on saxophone.
Practice tips
It is a slow three. The weight falls on beat two, so feel it as "one-two—three".
The eighth-note triplet in bar 5 (C♯–D–E) is three even notes in one beat.
The contrasting middle section starts at bar 30, and the opening returns at bar 42. Play it more softly the second time.
